The Viaduct Harbour, identified in the text at the bottom left of this photo, is a marina within the larger harbour surrounded on the inside by two piers with pubs and restaurants and the outside by a scenic seaside pier. It was the perfect setting for our last afternoon in New Zealand’s sunny summer.

Turning to the left, we see multi-level balconies with tables and umbrellas overlooking the harbour.

This is the view from the inside pier looking at the boats and across to the outer harbour. As is so often the case, under beautiful New Zealand skies.

We’ve talked about New Zealand’s amazing coffee culture, the incredible produce and the scrumptious grass fed meats…..
Did we mention the spectacular ice cream? Beyond a doubt the greatest risk to the waistline in New Zealand is the ice cream!
Kudos to the free range dairy cows!

Vino Rosso, Gambas Inferno and Pizza Margherita. What more could you ask for?
With an Uber back to the hotel, we have a bit of packing ahead. While it was all carry-on coming over, we now have a guitar to check. Luckily, we picked up a very durable hard case in Whangarei. Packing was a piece of cake. Clothes out for the morning, our final sleep in new Zealand.
